[It's New Feather season, and there's a redhead with yellow wings looking a little bit lost as she wanders through the village. She can be found looking in the clothes shop and the item shop, then stopping to look at the windows of the flower shop, looking a little bit dazzled.

Eventually, she'll settle in front of the fountain and leaf through the first few pages of her journal.]

[Vanille's in her normal clothes when the video starts, and she looks just a little skeptical before she realizes that it's actually working. She gets technology, but this? This is a little strange.]

Oh, so this does work! I've never talked through a book before.

[She laughs a little, seeming all too pleased with herself, and waves.]

I'm Vanille! I guess it's pretty clear by the first part that I'm new around here, huh? It's nice to meet you!

[A moment's pause.]

...I guess you get a lot of people looking for their friends when they first get here, and I'm probably not the first who's asked, but I have to try. Does anyone know a woman named Fang? Or a woman named Lightning? Or two men, Sazh or Snow, or a boy named Hope? Or a girl about my age, named Serah...they couldn't have brought little Dajh here, he's way too young to be away from his daddy...

Right! If you're there, well, I'll be by the fountain!

And I have a question for everyone else! Is it always so pretty like this? It must be nice, having the forest so close. And the mountains, too! Even if there are monsters or something out there, I want to see all of it!

It really is pretty in spring, isn't it? I love seeing all the flowers and things like that. My home village always had flowers around it, so it reminds me of that, a little.

I hope they do, being here alone isn't exactly a treat. [Because nothing's worse than being kidnapped and taken to a strange place by yourself, right?]

Yeah? I've always lived in a city up until recently, so I agree the flowers are a really nice touch.

Even if they don't, that's still okay. There's important things to take care of at home, too, so if they're not here, it means they're taking care of them. It's all right.

[There's a giggle.]

I've only been to a few cities, and only passing through. This kind of place is more like what I'm used to. I'm glad for the flowers, though. My home village was always surrounded by them, and it's nice to have the reminder.

So they say, though that kind of leaves those of us stuck here that have important things to take care of back home with a lot of frustration, too. [But he shrugs it off, trying to not dwell on that too much.]

I know how you feel about that, too. I've been trying not to think too much about it, and just trust that my friends will help, but it's hard not to worry. But a new friend just told me that time stands still at home while you're here. So whatever it is you need to take care of, it'll be there waiting. I don't know if that helps or makes things worse, though...

It was. But I think you have to make the most of wherever you are.

Yeah, they say it'll still be there. But that can only ease the worry so much, especially if you can't find a lot to occupy your mind with while we're here. We'll just have to take what we're dealt with, I suppose.

Does that mean you're going to be able to take care of yourself here? Some people find it's a big change from what they're used to and don't adapt as quickly.
